Summary:A grilling or toasting machine comprises a bottom heating plate (1), a top heating plate (2) and a receptacle (3) to receive water. The top heating plate (2) is coupled to the bottom heating plate (1) so that food to be cooked can be inserted between the two heating plates (1, 2). Water received in the receptacle (3) is arranged to be heated by a heater (3a) to produce water vapour. The water receptacle (3) is arranged relative to the heating plates (1, 2) such that in use water vapour is sprayed over food between the two heating plates (1, 2).
