Summary:An electrochemical gas sensor 1 for the detection of ozone or nitrogen dioxide in a gas sample comprises a measuring electrode 3 of carbon nanotubes (CNT) and a counter-electrode 8 in an electrolyte solution 9, which comprises lithium chloride (LiCI) or lithium bromide (LiBr) in aqueous solution. The sensor further includes a diffusion membrane 4, gas inlet 15, reference electrode 6 and potentiostat 16. The combination of CNTs with the electrolyte solution enables sensitive detection of O3or NO2with reduced sensitivity to temperature and humidity changes.
