Summary:A stabilising plate for a diamond coring rig comprises a curved rectangular metal place with braced welded channel 4 located along the centre of the plate. The corners of the plate are provided with threaded bolts so as to secure it to the ground. In use the plate is secured to the ground, and the hydraulic jack/ ram of a road vehicle slotted into the channel 4. The weight of the vehicle then presses down on the plate. Alternative a vehicle's tyre may be driven onto the plate so as to secure it. A diamond coring rig or drilling machine may then be connected to the plate, with the plate serving as a secure surface, allowing the rig/ machine to be used on asphalt road surfaces that have an adverse camber or uneven surface. The plate is said to offer advantages over standard anchor bolts in that it can be more fixedly secured to soft asphalt.
