Summary:A method of managing oilfield tubular goods comprising: providing each item of equipment with a remotely readable identification (RFID) tag; gathering inspection data associated with the tubular 602; using the tubular; gathering further inspection data associated with the tubular; correlating the data with an identification code of the tag in a signal bearing medium 606; and invoicing, preferably automatically, for actual wear to the tubular as determined based on the correlating 608. The data may include at least one of rotating hours, wall thickness, outer diameter, thread condition, outer diameter of box end and outer diameter of pin end. The location of the tubular may be identified via triangulation using RFID detectors.
