Summary: | A microfluidic device 100 for blood-plasma 120 separation from red cells 115 and plasma based blood analysis is described. The device comprises an inlet 135, a filter region 140, an assay region 150 and a propulsion region. The filter region comprises at least one step 140A for sedimentary collection of particles. The propulsion region comprises an evacuated porous material which in use draws fluid 110 through the fluid path. Also disclosed is a microfluidic mixing device comprising two inlets a mixing region and an evacuated porous material in the propulsion region. |
