Summary:The invention provides a method for the transport of a civil engineering structure 1 in an aquatic medium. According to the method at least one float 2 is associated with the civil engineering structure in such a way as to ensure that the said civil engineering structure floats stably in an aquatic medium 6, the said float surrounding the civil engineering structure and a bottom portion of the civil engineering structure extending below the said float. The civil engineering structure and the associated float are then caused to move in the aquatic medium to a desired position. The float may comprise two barges (2a and 2b, Fig 2) which may be joined to grip the civil engineering structure. The civil engineering structure may be lowered into the aquatic medium by means of a lift (9, Fig 5A-C) or by means of a load-bearing structure (22, Fig 7).
