Summary:An electromagnetic shield assembly for use with C-arm scanning devices. In an embodiment, the system includes a ring shield 310 configured to encompass an x-ray detector. The ring shield 310 has a window opening 315 to receive x-rays. The system also includes a window shield 320 configured to shield the window opening 315 of the ring shield 310. Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a system for a universal navigation target. The system may include a radiolucent calibration target 230 and an electromagnetic shield 118. The electromagnetic shield 118 includes a ring shield 310 having a window opening 315 to receive x-rays and a window shield 320 configured to shield the window opening 315 of the ring shield 310.
