Summary:A power tool, such as a band saw, comprises a housing 104, 108, a motor (18, fig 1) supported by the housing and operable to drive a tool element, a battery (46, fig 1) electronically connected to the motor and operable to provide power to the motor, and a battery support 50A for supporting the battery, the battery support being formed separately from the housing and being supportable by the housing. Preferably, the housing defines an opening 112, and the battery support at least partially extends through and outwardly of the opening. The battery may be a slide on power tool battery including a connection structure, and the battery support may include a support structure 116 complementary to the connection structure of the battery for supporting the battery.
