Expandable tubular assembly incorporating an interstitial layer

An expandable tubular assembly comprises an interstitial layer 3904a positioned in the annulus between an expandable tubular member 3902b and a structure 3906b. The combination of expandable tubular member 3902b and interstitial layer 3904a expanded within the pre-existing structure 3906b exhibits a...

Summary:An expandable tubular assembly comprises an interstitial layer 3904a positioned in the annulus between an expandable tubular member 3902b and a structure 3906b. The combination of expandable tubular member 3902b and interstitial layer 3904a expanded within the pre-existing structure 3906b exhibits a higher collapse strength than would be exhibited in an expanded assembly without the interstitial layer. The interstitial layer 3904a may comprise various ranges of thicknesses of material such as aluminium, aluminium and zinc or plastic.
