Summary:A vehicle seat assembly 10 comprises a composite cushion 20 formed from a structural layer 30 and a cushion layer 23, the composite cushion being covered with a trim material 22 secured over the composite cushion. The composite cushion may further comprise a comfort pad 34, which may be a non-woven compressed fibrous material. The structural layer may be formed from an expanded polyolefin such as polypropylene and the cushion layer is preferably a soy-based polyurethane. The vehicle seat assembly is easy to disassemble and is readily recyclable.
