Summary:A battery powered hand machine tool comprises a housing 12 which forms a handle 111. An on/off button 16 is located on a first face of the housing 12 and lies approximately in the middle of an elongate recess 18 which extends from the first face to a second face of the housing 12. Lamps which indicate the charge state of the battery are located in the recess 18 at its end on the second face. The lamps may be two green and a red LED which lie under a transparent cover 22. The tool may be an orbital sander with a delta shaped sanding platen.
