Summary: | Game playing apparatus includes at least one playing piece or block 10 having six faces or game sides 15. Indicia, e.g. letters 20, are provided on only two of the game sides, with the indicia being applied on two perpendicular sides, and the same, or similar, indicia being provided on each of the two sides, e.g. upper 20 and lower case (not shown) representations of a letter. The playing pieces may comprise hollow or solid cube-like blocks. In an alternative embodiment the playing pieces may comprise planar elements arranged to define six game sides (fig's 3j, 3k), spherical blocks having six, cube-like planar faces (fig's 4a, 4b), or polyhedral blocks having six, cube-like planar faces (fig's 4c, 4d). The blocks may releasably attach to one another, e.g. magnetically or via hook and loop fasteners, and the blocks may be transparent, opaque, or partially opaque. The indicia 20 may include letters, numbers, keyboard symbols, mathematical symbols, musical notes, colours, animals or playing card indicia. In use, the blocks may be arranged in three dimensions to form words as part of a game. The blocks may also be represented graphically as part of a computer or video game. |
