Summary:An electrical appliance, which may be an audio appliance such as a radio or MP3 player, has a battery charger 410 detachably connected thereto. The charger housing may be mounted externally on the appliance housing as shown, may be received in a receptacle in the appliance housing or may be incorporated in a power cord (Fig 17A) or wall plug (Fig 17B) through which the appliance is powered. The charger housing is adapted to receive batteries of different sizes and may have battery locking and ejector mechanism (Figs 6-10). A locking power cord connector (Figs 22-27) is disclosed.
