Summary:Systems (10) and methods (250, 280, 320) generate transaction identifiers (ID A, ID B, ID C, ID D). A plurality of available transaction identifiers (ID A, ID B) are generated (324) for use in identifying future transactions (100, 108) from a first bus (14). A new transaction identifier (ID C) is generated (326) upon receipt of each received transaction (100) from the first bus. One of the available transaction identifiers is assigned (328) to each received transaction prior to generation of the new transaction identifier (ID C) so that the received transaction (100) communicated on a second bus (18) is identified by the one transaction identifier (ID A).
