Summary: | A packer 100 comprises a body, a sealing element and a cleaning device 200 operatively connected to the body. This cleaning device may take the form of a wiper, a brush, a scraper, or, in a preferred embodiment, a wiper 220 comprising a wiper cable (251, figure 3). The cleaning device may be rotated or reciprocated in order to clean a casing surface. Other details of the packer are also disclosed, including the arrangement between the slips 90, cones 80, backup 70 and ratchet 82, 83 rings. Also disclosed is a method of wellbore completion comprising the steps of cementing a tubular, cleaning said tubular, and actuating a packer into contact with the cleaned surface. |
