Summary:A turbine rotor, for example a Pelton wheel, comprises radial body members (11 in fig. 1) comprising impeller elements 1. The leading (13 in fig. 1) and trailing (15 in fig. 1) surfaces of each body segment (11 in fig. 1) abut abutment surfaces of adjacent body segments. The radial body member comprises a further abutment 21 and locating means 26, 27 cooperates with the further abutment means 21. Wedging means which is tapered in the radial direction acts between the radial body members and the locating means and means is provided to draw the radial body members radially inwards to hold them together as a unit.
