Summary:A standard SIM has data fields allocated for storing phone numbers for use in an Abbreviated Dialling Number (ADN) and a Fixed Dialling Number (FDN) mode. In Fixed Dialling Mode the terminal is limited to calling numbers on the fixed dialling list. If the phone is permanently to be used in Fixed Dialling Mode the data fields allocated to the Abbreviated Dialling Numbers are never used, the invention relates to remotely reconfiguring the data fields or access conditions of the data fields allocated for ADN mode, so that they may be used in FDN mode.
