Summary: | Wiper control device having a controller for outputting a control signal in response to overheating of a wiper motor M, to a first and second field effect transistor FETA,FETB. The wiper motor M is connected between a drain of the field effect transistor and ground and/or between the drain and a power supply. The controller comprises a means 21 for detecting a drain voltage of the first or second field effect transistor, a means 22,23 for detecting a short circuit of the drain circuit based on an abnormal detected drain voltage, a means 24 for counting the number of abnormal drain voltages detected, a means 26 for comparing the number of abnormal drain voltages detected with a predetermined value and a means 27 for determining whether the number of short circuits detected reaches a predetermined value. The FET judged to be involved with the occurrence of a short circuit is thereby halted. |
