Summary:A quantity regulating valve is proposed for controlling fluids, wherein a valve member (16) can be adjusted by an electromagnet in such a manner that different passage cross-sections (33) (Fig.2) can be adjusted so that a high pressure pump (5) supplied with fuel via the quantity regulating valve can deliver a variable quantity of high pressure fuel. In order to prevent the delivery of a quantity of high pressure fuel, the valve member (16) of the quantity regulating valve is provided with a sealing face (25) which cooperates with a valve seat (26).
