Summary:A vehicle door wiring harness 14 is mounted on the inside of a door panel 11, behind the door trim (not shown). The harness is bent around the front face 15 of the door, and packaged (fig. 4) to fit through a grommet 17. The grommet has a cylindrical part 17b connected to the main bodyshell, and a substantially flat plate-like part 17c connected to the door. The outer body of the grommet is made of an elastic substance, and has a mounting plate 18 moulded in. Fasteners, such as clips 18a (fig. 3), anchor the grommet to the door, ensuring watertightness by compressing the elastic part around the edges of the mounting plate. Screws (21, fig. 14) or bolts (40, fig. 17) may be used to secure the grommet; a concave cavity (15a, fig. 11) may be made in the door. Numeral 20 denotes a sealing strip, which projects over the grommet at 20a.
