Summary:An apparatus for determining the proportion of paramagnetic substance, in particular of oxygen, having a magnetic field source (3) and an even-numbered multiple arrangement of magnetic field cores (5) with, in each case, a measuring field coil (7) surrounding the latter for the purpose of detecting the magnetic alternating field generated by a rotatable chamber arrangement (2), is improved such that the formation of stray magnetic fields is reduced and the proportion of the magnetic flux which passes through the chamber arrangement (2) and is effective for measuring is increased. The magnetic polarity of adjacent measuring field coils are aligned in opposite directions. The chamber arrangement (2) is arranged in the housing (1) of the apparatus such that its plane of rotation forms two partial zones (A, B) within the housing (1), the magnetic field source (3) being arranged in one partial zone (A) and the magnetic field cores (5) with the measuring field coils (7) associated with them being arranged in the other partial zone (B). The paramagnetic substance is supplied via inlet 9 and outlet 11. The disc 2 has cutaway portions 8 and is rotated by drive motor 14.
