Transmitting multi-color image signals for reproduction
A transmitter scans each line Fig 15(1) of a subject copy sheet carrying an original image having at least two colors e.g. black and red, other than a background color e.g. white of the copy sheet, thereby preparing sets of run-length code data a and b corresponding to the colors in the original ima...

Summary: | A transmitter scans each line Fig 15(1) of a subject copy sheet carrying an original image having at least two colors e.g. black and red, other than a background color e.g. white of the copy sheet, thereby preparing sets of run-length code data a and b corresponding to the colors in the original image, and colour discrimination code data e indicative of which colors appear in each line of the copy sheet. The sets of run-length code data are converted if necessary into image signals c and d corresponding to the at least two colors. The transmitter transmits the color discrimination code data, and only each of the sets of run-length code data which are necessary to reproduce each line of the copy sheet. The receiver is adapted to reproduce each line of the subject copy sheet, based on the color discrimination code data e and the set or sets of run- length code data f and g which are received from the transmitter. |
