Summary:30,274. MÚnager, A. H. J. Dec. 31, 1909, [Convention date]. Nuts; locking bolts. - A device for locking objects on rods, bolts, &c. comprises a socket 1, coned internally, enclosing a coned sleeve a, formed with cavities containing balls 6, which are arranged in one or more rows, and jam when the larger end of the socket 1 encounters the work or other resistance. The sleeve a is pressed to the right by a spring 5 bearing against a disk 4. A number of elastic washers 8 or a helical spring is placed between the socket 1 and the work. To release the device, the sleeve a is pulled to the left; the sleeve is formed with a collar or with a groove 3 for that purpose. The rod or bolt may be of circular or polygonal section.
