Summary: | 14,122. Binnie, W. J. E., and Deacon, M. June 16. Outdoor games.-Apparatus for use in a lawn or indoor game played with a golf club and ball comprises one or more removable and adjustable walls A', B', E', D', Fig. 1, having plane deflecting surfaces against which the ball is driven with the object of causing it to enter holes A , B or cylindrical pockets K', Fig. 4. Both sides of the walls may be utilized as deflecting-surfaces, and the walls are so situated as to prevent a straight drive between some other tee and its hole, for example, the wall E prevents a straight drive from the tee D to the hole A . The deflecting-walls are faced with sheet metal and may be provided with an inclined portion, over which the ball has to travel before or after striking the wall proper. Inclined surfaces, Fig. 1, provided with grooves C , C , may be arranged between the hole and its tee. To set the walls at the correct inclination, the course of a correctly-played ball is laid out with string N, Fig. 5, and a strip M with hinged and graduated arms M is adjusted as shown until the string cuts equal graduations on the arms; the correct inclination is then given by the strip M. |
