Summary:1278048 Spring upholstery BAINS EVERITT & CO (SPONDON) Ltd 19 Sept 1969 [4 July 1968] 31990/68 Heading A4M An article of spring upholstery comprises a frame 5 with cross rails 6a-6d on which upstanding coil springs 7 are secured and taut flexible strips 8 secured to and spanning the frame 5, each overlying a row of springs 7 and being secured to the upper ends of the springs 7, the article being made by a method including the step of securing the strips 8 in a taut condition to the frame 5 before engaging them over the springs 5 and securing them to the springs. The arrangement at rail 6b depicts the strip 8 at the stage of securing to the frame and engaged between bottom convolutions of the springs 5. The strips 8 may be secured to the springs 5, as shown in Fig. 2, by a pin 9 shaped like a shepherd's crook.
