Summary: | 126,122. Goodwin, J. E. April 29, 1918. Current meters.-In a system where compound machines are run in parallel, each protective switch and each controlling and measuring apparatus employed on the compound side of a machine, has two sets of current coils, one set connected in the main conductor and the other set connected in the equalizer conductor. Connexions are shown in Fig. 1 for a three-wire machine G compounded on both sides. Circuit-breakers c, b connect the main conductor M and the equalizer conductor E to the bus bars, and have two controlling coils c , c in the conductors M, E respectively. The ammeter a, the watt-hour meter w, and the recording wattmeter r, w also have two sets of current coils c , c and, where necessary, a pressure coil p. Reverse current relays, ampere-hour meters, and other kinds of instruments are described with the two sets of current coils. |
