Summary:1,220,484. Phenolated isoprene polymers. UNION CARBIDE CORP. 7 Feb., 1968 [7 Feb., 1967], No. 6073/68. Heading C3P. Thiophenol or a phenol of formula R(OH) n, where R is a C 18-31 substituted or unsubstituted aromatic radical and n is 1, 2, or 3 is reacted with a homopolymer of isoprene, a copolymer of isoprene containing at least 70% by weight of isoprene, or a halogenated or hydrogenated polymer thereof, said isoprene polymer having an internal unsaturation of less than 50% based on the total unsaturation. Exemplified is polyisoprene of only 5% internal unsaturation phenolated by p-dodecyl phenol and thiophenol.
