A hopper ventilator comprises a frame mounted in a re-entrant portion of a glass pane 10, a ventilator pane or panel 16 pivoted at 20, side walls 38 riveted to the side members of the frame, each wall 38 being provided with a rail 39 having spaced notches, and the upper corners of the pane 16 having detent devices 44 with plungers 45 which are spring urged into contact with the rails 39. Each device 44 is slotted on to the corresponding corner of the pane 16 and is held thereon by engagement with the walls 38. Only one side wall 38 and detent device 44 need be provided.
