A roller stand 1 for supporting drafting rollers consists of two parts 1A/, 1B/ assembled together to define a hollow interior which has at least one recess 7, 8 in which is held captive a part 10, 11 of a fastening device 18, 19 for securing a drafting roller bearing support 20, 21 to the stand, the position of the part 7, 8 in its recess being adjustable. Another recess 6 receives a fastening device 9, 15 for securing the stand to a beam 16 of a spinning frame. Each fastening device consists of a nut and a complementary threaded member, either the nut or the head of the threaded member being the part held captive. The stand also has a rectangular sectional bore 24 extending therethrough for accepting adjacent ends of 2 sections of a square-sectioned back bar 25 of the spinning machine, the adjacent ends being separated, e.g. by ribs 26A, 26B. Screws 29 mounted in holes 28 can be tightened to lock the bar sections 25 against turning or sliding.
