A seed drill comprises a disc 3 with openings 4 for seed which is rotatable on a shaft 2 mounted obliquely in a hopper 1 the disc being provided with tubes 10, one for each opening, which deposit the seeds .in the ground the tubes 10 moving in the opposite direction to the direction of travel at a speed corresponding to the speed of travel. As shown the tubes are provided with grippers 13 so that they are rotated by contact with the ground.
