Summary:1,156,099. Cyanuric acid. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 29 May, 1968. [3 July, 1967], No. 30575/67. Heading C1A. [Also in Division C2] Cyanuric acid (and biuret and triuret) is prepared by the pyrolysis of urea in one or more reactors by drawing off the molten mixture (containing cyanuric acid and urea, biuret and triuret) from the reactor(s), dissolving said mixture in water, adding to the solution a complexing agent to precipitate out the urea, and crystallizing out cyanuric acid from the solution. Cyanuric acid (and the other autocondensation products) may be crystallized out before removing the urea with the complexing agent (a saturated straight-chain hydrocarbon or a hydrocarbon derivative).
