Summary:1150061 Gas liquefaction apparatus BRITISH OXYGEN CO Ltd 6 July 1966 [7 July 1965] 28837/65 Headings F4H and HG13 A permanent gas, e.g. air, liquefaction apparatus comprises a double helical coil 10 of capillary tubing 11 wrapped round a tubular mandrel 12 and inserted within a cylindrical Dewar flask 23 which receives liquid air resulting from expansion through a nozzle at the lower end of the coil of compressed air admitted to the two upper ends of the coil within a header 13; the coil 10 being sheathed throughout its length by a cord 20 and by tape 21 of heat insulating material and sealed at its upper end to the internal wall of the flask 23 by tape 22 whereby ascending cold expanded air traverses the space within said sheath.
