An elongated flexible sealing strip has the minimum cross-sectional area in a longitudinal plane parallel to .the top face greater than the' minimum cross-sectional area in a perpendicular longitudinal plane, the strip comprising a longitudinal passage 7 having a top face corresponding to a concave depression 10 in the top surface of the strip. The top surface may have ,three concave depressions 9, 10, 11 and have walls of arcuate shape to be readily deformable under compression.
