Summary:Polyacrylonitrile materials are dyed with a dye formula <FORM:1123767/D1-D2/1> in which R1 and R2 are alkyl groups having 1-3 carbon atoms which may be substituted and X is an anion of a simple or complex inorganic or organic acid. Copolymers of polyacrylonitrile e.g. with methyl acrylate, methylvinylpyridine and vinyl acetate are also dyed. Dyeing is generally carried out at pH 1-7 at the boil, blends of wool or polyester are referred to, green-blue shades are obtained.
