Elastic-thermoplastic copolymers with good thermal-and light-stability
Thermoplastics moulding materials consisting of polymerized conjugated diene and copolymerized styrene and acrylonitrile (or alkyl derivatives thereof) are stabilized by means of 0.1-4% by weight of the materials of a mixture of (a) 1-80% of 2,21-methylene-bis-4-methyl -6-cyclohexylphenol and (b) 99...

Summary: | Thermoplastics moulding materials consisting of polymerized conjugated diene and copolymerized styrene and acrylonitrile (or alkyl derivatives thereof) are stabilized by means of 0.1-4% by weight of the materials of a mixture of (a) 1-80% of 2,21-methylene-bis-4-methyl -6-cyclohexylphenol and (b) 99-20% of zinc sulphide. The thermoplastic materials may be formed by blending the diene polymer with a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, or by grafting styrene and acrylonitrile on to the diene polymer and, if required, blending the product with separately prepared styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer. Examples describe stabilizing thermoplastic materials made by latex-grafting styrene and acrylonitrile on to polybutadiene and blending the products with separately prepared styrene-acrylonitrile and alpha-methylstyrene-acrylonitrile copolymers. |
