Summary:<PICT:1072736/C3/1> A method of continuous vulcanization comprises passing a body to be vulcanized across the surface of a hot liquid medium on which the body floats, and supplying a further quantity of the hot liquid medium to impinge on a portion of the surface of the body which is not in floating contact with the medium. The method may be used to partially cure articles before subjecting to a further cure. A suitable apparatus comprises a bath (2) containing liquid (5), a perforated tray (11) to let the liquid fall as a "rain" (15), and recycling means (8, 9, 10).
