Summary:1,068,788. Thermonuclear apparatus. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Aug. 27, 1965 [Sept. 7, 1964], No. 36939/65. Heading G6P. In a controlled thermonuclear fusion device the pulsed plasma gun incorporates powdered titanium hydride distributed in an insulating binder. Both lateral and axial ejection guns may be constructed. Surface erosion of the hydride mass is effected by the plasma discharge which contacts the hydride surface. Continual release of ions is thereby effected during the discharge. The binder and hydride may be sintered. Triggering arrangements, such as are required in the Bostick and Marshall guns, are not required.
