Summary: | 1,047,808. Supporting pottery during firing. J. GIMSON & CO. Ltd. July 19, 1965 [July 25, 1964], No. 29823/64. Heading F4B. A potters' crank comprises two bars 20 having end lugs 21 mating with slots 22 in the middle of a bar so as to form a T-piece and with slots 11 in socket blocks 10 arranged at each extremity to locate and support three pillars 30 (Fig. 1, not shown) each having inclined recesses 32 into which ware-supporting pins can be inserted. The slots 11 are in each vertical face of the socket blocks 10 and end short of the bottom face so that the crank when assembled only stands on three points of support. The upper ends of the pillars 30 are braced to each other by means of a one or two piece T-piece cover 40 located on projections 33. Various combinations of bars 20 and socket blocks 10 are described to form square and rectangular cranks. |
