An endless belt conveyer comprises a belt 12 mounted on drive and idler pulleys and having its upper run passing over the perforated upper surface 10 of an air box 8, the belt being supported by the air pressure issuing therefrom. The perforated surface 10 is shaped to conform to the curvature of the moving loaded belt and is mounted over an impervious trough 9 which is divided into sections by plates 13, each section being fed with compressed air from a pipe 14 and branches 15. Pressure gauges may be provided at each air box section, whereby readings of the load being carried may be obtained. The lower run of the belt is supported by rollers mounted on the air box supporting frames 7.
