Method for preparing tubular pipe to perform non destructive testing in e.g. oil industry, using ultrasound, involves preparing part with strips close together on portion of part, where strips are provided with magnetostrictive properties
The method involves preparing a part i.e. tubular pipe (10), with two parallel basic strips (41a, 41b) close together on a portion (11) of a surface of the part, where the strips are non-continuous and provided with magnetostrictive properties. A coating magnetostrictive material (40) is deposited o...

Summary: | The method involves preparing a part i.e. tubular pipe (10), with two parallel basic strips (41a, 41b) close together on a portion (11) of a surface of the part, where the strips are non-continuous and provided with magnetostrictive properties. A coating magnetostrictive material (40) is deposited on the portion of the part to form the strips, where the material impacts the surface of the part in a form of powder. The coating magnetostrictive material deposited on the portion of the part is realized by dynamic cold projection.
