Summary: | The device has an optical beam (41) of an optical measurement system (2) i.e. light detection and ranging (LIDAR), oriented along a direction corresponding to main direction of displacement of an aircraft in turbulence mode. The optical beam of the system is deviated from an angle with respect to the main direction such that another optical beam (42) is directed toward the bottom of the aircraft in altimeter mode. The turbulences mode is associated with the operation in Doppler mode of the system, and the altimeter mode is associated with the operation in telemeter mode of the system. An independent claim is also included for an airplane comprising a system for measuring atmospheric turbulence in front of an airplane along a trajectory during flight. |
