Summary:An electrical connector (100) comprising a plurality of lines terminated by electrical contact elements (110), the electrical connector being intended to cooperate with a plug (200), at least one of the lines being terminated by a contact piece (150) situated forwardly in the connector such that, during the introduction of the plug into the connector, this contact piece enters into contact with the corresponding contact element of the plug before the other contact elements of the connector, the piece having means for electrical connection with the corresponding contact element of the connector to provide the electrical contact between the contact element of the plug and the contact element of the connector until the plug has been fully inserted into the connector, the piece being adapted to allow the contact element of the plug to pass until it enters into direct contact with the corresponding contact element of the connector.
