Summary:Use of one or more lysin derivatives (I) and their salts or solvates for conditioning keratin fibers, preferably human keratin fibers such as hair, is claimed. Use of one or more lysin derivatives of formula (OR 3-CH 2-CH(OR 4)-CH 2-NR 3-CH 2-CH 2-CH 2-CH 2-CH(-NH-R 1)-C(=O)-OR 2) (I) and their salts or solvates for conditioning keratin fibers, preferably human keratin fibers such as hair, is claimed. R 1H or protecting group; R 2H, 1-6C alkyl or 3-6C alkyl; R 3, R 4H, optionally saturated 2-25C acyl, or optionally saturated 4-25C acyl; R 5H or group of formula (CH 2CH(OR 6)CH 2OR 7); and R 6, R 7H, optionally saturated 3-25C acyl or optionally saturated 4-25C acyl. Provided that R 1-R 5and optionally R 6and R 7may not simultaneously represent H. Independent claims are included for: (1) cosmetic composition for conditioning keratin fibers, particularly human keratin fibers such as hair, comprising (I) and one or more cosmetic adjuvants in a medium; (2) a mixture of compounds derived from (I) comprising 0.5-15 wt.% of monoesters, 25-99.5 wt.% of di-ester, 0.5-70 wt.% of triesters and 0.5-70 wt.% of tetra-esters, compared to the total weight of the mixture; and (3) a process for conditioning keratin fibers, particularly human keratin fibers such as hair comprising applying a cosmetic composition on dry or wet fibers; and optionally rinsing or drying.
