Summary:The board (10) has a honey-comb shaped core (12) including an expanded material layer at its upper surface, and made of cardboard covered material. The expanded material layer is made of expanded material having hardness ranging between 60 and 90 shores. The core is intercalated between two semi-shells (14) to form a blank. The blank is coated with a thin encapsulating layer (16) for observing slight elastic deformations of the expanded material layer, where the encapsulating layer comprises epoxy resin impregnated natural fibers. The semi-shells are made of biopolymer i.e. biopolystyrene. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a sliding board.
