The device has a T-shaped air bag (5) comprising a central part (5a) deployed between two front seats (2a, 2b) and above a console (4), where the console is fixed on a floor of a cab interior (1) of a vehicle. Lateral extensions (5b, 5c) of the air bag are deployed between the rear of backrests of the front seats and in front of a rear bench seat (3). The air bag and a common air bag inflating unit are enclosed in a rigid box. The central part and the extensions are inflated by the common inflating unit.
