Cosmetic composition (I) comprises in a cosmetically acceptable medium at least one cationic polymer (i), which is a product of polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising at least one vinyl monomer substituted with at least one amino group, at least one hydrophobic nonionic vinyl monomer compounds (a), and at least one associative vinyl monomer; at least one amino silicone (ii); and at least one cationic polymer (iii) other than (i) and (ii) and having a cationic charge density of >= 4 meq./g. Cosmetic composition (I) comprises in a cosmetically acceptable medium at least one cationic polymer (i), which is a product of polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising at least one vinyl monomer substituted with at least one amino group, at least one hydrophobic nonionic vinyl monomer compounds of formula (CH 2=C(X)Z) and (CH 2=CH-OC(O)R) (a), and at least one associative vinyl monomer; at least one amino silicone (ii); and at least one cationic polymer (iii) other than (i) and (ii) and having a cationic charge density of >= 4 meq./g. X : H or CH 3; Z : -C(O)OR 1>, -C(O)NH 2, -C(O)NHR 1>, -C(O)N(R 1>) 2, C 6H 5, -C 6H 4R 1>, -C 6H 4OR 1>, -C 6H 4Cl, -CN, -NHC(O)CH 3, -NHC(O)H, N-(2-pyrrolidonyl), N-caprolactamyl, C(O)NHC(CH 3), CONHCH 2CH 2-NH-CH 2CH 2-urea, Si(R) 3, COO(CH 2) xSi(R) 3, C(O)NH(CH 2) xSi(R) 3or (CH 2) xSi(R) 3; x : 1-6; and R : 1-30C alkyl. An independent claim is included for a method of washing or caring for keratin materials, comprising applying (I) in the cosmetically acceptable medium; and optionally followed by rinsing with water, after an optional leave-in time.
