The gate has a pneumatic cylinder (5) operating a glass pane (4) between a deployed position in which the pane is placed in an extension of a lower panel (3) and a retracted position in which the pane is housed between walls of the panel. The cylinder is interposed between a structure of a cab interior and the pane, and is activated by control units by a driver from a driving cab. L'invention a pour objet un portillon de sécurité (1) pour cabine d'un véhicule de transport en commun. Ce portillon (1) est principalement constitué d'un panneau inférieur (3) aménagé pour être rehaussé d'un vitrage (4). Le portillon est articulé en pivotement sur la structure de l'habitacle par l'intermédiaire d'un montant (2), et est équipé de moyens de manoeuvre (5) du vitrage (4) entre une position escamotée dans laquelle l'espace surplombant le panneau inférieur (3) est libéré et une position déployée dans laquelle le vitrage (4) est placé dans le prolongement du panneau inférieur (3) de manière à le rehausser. Lesdits moyens de manoeuvre (5) sont placés en interposition entre la structure de l'habitacle et le vitrage (4), et sont mis en oeuvre par des moyens de commande (22,23,25,26) actionnables par le conducteur depuis le poste de conduite.
