Summary:Polymer for the production of abrasion-resistant fibre, consists of two macromolecular polycondensate chains linked by a co-condensed hydrocarbon-based group with at least 2 carbon atoms. Abrasion-resistant yarn, fibres and filaments (ARF) obtained from a composition with a polymeric matrix comprising a polycondensate consisting of 30-100 mol% macromolecular chains of formula (I), and 0-70 mol% macromolecular chains of formula (II). R 3-(X-R 2-Y) n-X-A-R 1-A-X-(Y-R 2-X) m-R 3 (I) R 4-(Y-R 2-X) p-R 3 (II) Where: -X-Y- : a radical formed by the condensation of two reactive functions F 1 and F 2; F 1the precursor of -X- and F 2 = the precursor of -Y- or vice versa, F 1 and F 2 being unable to react with themselves; A : a covalent bond or a 1-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon group which may contain heteroatoms; R 1a hydrocarbon group with at least 2 C atoms (linear or cyclic, aromatic or aliphatic, optionally with heteroatoms); R 2a 2-20C hydrocarbon group (optionally branched, aliphatic or aromatic); R 3, R 4H, hydroxyl or a hydrocarbon group; n, m, p : 50-500 Independent claims are also included for articles containing ARF, especially felt for paper machines, carpets, rugs, ropes, belts, fabric for transfer printing, filter cloth and netting.
