The case has a post (3) on which two rails (5,6) are fixed in parallel direction. The rails are used to receive modular apparatuses (A) aligned on the rails. The distance between the two rails can be adjusted so as to take three different values based on the choice of the position of each of the two rails on the post. The plastron (20) has an eccentric opening for passage of a part of the front of a modular apparatus. An Independent claim is also included for the plastron. La présente invention concerne un châssis C pour un appareillage électrique, comprenant au moins un montant (3) sur lequel peuvent être fixés au moins deux rails de montage (5,6) s'étendant sensiblement parallèlement l'un par rapport à l'autre, lesdits rails (5,6) étant destinés chacun à recevoir un ou plusieurs appareils modulaires A alignés sur ledit rail (5,6). Ce châssis est caractérisé en ce que chaque rail de montage (5,6) peut être fixé sur le(les) montant(s) (3) suivant deux positions différentes, de telle manière que la distance entre les deux rails (5,6) puisse prendre trois valeurs différentes en fonction du choix de la position de chacun des deux rails (5,6) sur le(les) montant(s) (3).
