Summary:The sound analysis system includes a sampling process and memory to hold such samples. The samples are processed in order to determine specific parameters identifying specific sound components. Such parameters may then be compared with a database of sound information, in order to assist in recognition of the type of sound and likely causes. The device for the analysis of respiratory noises comprises a working memory capable of storing samples of a signal representing a respiratory noise. It also includes a processing module effecting a transformation of the signal in time and frequency. A system is provided for marking, within a transformed signal, at least one component relating to an added noise. The processing module is configured to extract from the signal a set of parameters characteristic of this noise. A representation of the signal in time and frequency is produced, and this may be compared with a database of stored parameters in a database in order to enable recognition of the type of sound being produced. Comparison may include scanning of frequency and amplitude, for different successive instants, to enable recognition of specific characteristics.
